Version 1: Pokémon cardsAndroid app in development
Scan your card. Scan the market.
Hold a card up to the camera and Kartenscan identifies it exactly: set, number and language, including German cards. Then the app searches the market for you and shows what your card is worth.
Opens your email app. That is all we need. Google Play: coming soon

Two scans, one answer
The name says it all: Kartenscan scans twice. First your card, then the market.
Scan the card
Point your camera, done. The app finds the card in the picture, straightens it and determines card, set, number and language. If it is unsure, it shows you the best matches to pick from.
Scan the market
Then Kartenscan searches for you: market prices, prices by language, sales reported by the community and current offers, all for exactly this card.
Know the value
See the market value in euros, the history as a chart, the highest and the lowest price. With source and date.
Built for European collectors
Most scanner apps are made for the US market. They often do not know German cards and show English dollar prices for them. Kartenscan does it differently.
Card language matters
A German card often sells for a different price than the same card in English. Kartenscan detects the language and shows prices by language where the data allows.
Market prices with history
Charts show how the market price develops, plus the highest and lowest price since we started recording.
Sales from the community
Collectors report what they paid or got for a card. Step by step this builds our own picture of real sale prices.
Current offers
Want to buy? Kartenscan shows current offers, cheapest first. These are advertising links and always labelled as ads.

Frequently asked questions
Is the app available yet?
Not yet. The Android app is in development and a closed beta is planned. Join the waitlist and we will email you when it starts.
Will there be an iPhone version?
Later. We start with Android and will bring the app to iOS afterwards.
Which cards does Kartenscan recognise?
Version 1 starts with Pokémon trading cards in German and English. Japanese cards and more languages will follow.
Will Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Lorcana be supported?
Yes, step by step. We start with Pokémon and build the app so that more trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Lorcana can be added. Feel free to tell us what you collect.
Where do the prices come from?
From market data we get through official interfaces and licensed providers, not by scraping other websites. On top of that come sales reported by our community and current offers. Where the data allows, prices are shown separately by card language. Every price shows its source and date.
How much will it cost?
Not decided yet. Scanning and the most important prices are meant to be free. There will be no weekly subscriptions or subscription traps.
What happens to my photos?
For identification, the app sends a crop of the card and the text read from it to our server. The image is only used for identification and is not stored afterwards. See the privacy policy for details.
